Cool Stuff For Your Ride - Murphs' Kits

Welcome to Murphskits! A little Mom and Pop operation situated in beautiful Kentucky. We invite you to look around the site and register as a customer. We do not share our customer list with anyone, and we will not send you any data you do not request. Registering makes any interaction between us a bit simpler, and man I like simple!

As the main part of the riding season winds down, I've been able to do a little reflecting on 2007; another year will be gone before you know it.

Murphs Test Bikes

Skunk and the C14

Murphskits has hit a few milestones this year! For one, the Skunk was born (shown in the picture), and the Bergmen Oil Filter Conversion was featured in Rider magazine!

After spending a big hunk of the 2006 Concours Owner Group National Rally working on “Murph's bike” in the parking lot, we decided to approach the 2007 Rally in a rather different state of preparedness. A show bike! Hence the Skunk was born, with a custom paint job reflecting the company colors of smoke (dark grey), silver, and burgundy. (The painting was done by David Thorp, a local who we can hook you up with anytime you like.)

Skunk sports front tip-over bars with highway pegs, upgraded front Sonic springs, EBC 320mm oversized Contour rotors, Shad 46 Liter trunk, 43 Liter Shad side bags hung from Murphskits custom brackets, KB forkbrace and handlebar spacers (risers, KB Steppers), a Cee Baileys 24.5 inch screen with NACA vent (all the CB screens we sell for the 86-06 have the NACA vent), and custom (smoke and titanium) Speigler hydraulic lines.

The list goes on! She is also packing the "SEE THIS" tail light, and the “man, can you believe it” Hella dual head light, which is of course protected by the Cee Baileys head light protector. The stock handle bars are topped off with our Buzzless system and grips. Of course, there is a Bergmen Oil filter conversion installed. A Murphs Fender Extender is in place, and last but not least, all the Murphskits stainless steel hardware keeps every thing in place!

These are products that work for me; you may find the KB foot forward highway pegs are a better choice than tip-over bars. A little on the long legged side? If I may be so bold, there is not a better peg lowering system out there than the Knee Savers we offer. Pack a lot of electrical gear? Hit up the add-on fuse box. It\'s PNP, so even I can install it! Like to hit the long stretch of road and just ride? We offer the Audiovox cruise control and some great Bergmen control mounts. Need a little more comfort? We can supply you with a handlebar conversion kit. Get any pair of 7/8” bars you want on the Concours! We can supply you with custom cables and hoses. Handlebars? How about some Flanders, the standard by which others are measured.

As you can see, we offer a lot of product for what we are calling the "Legacy" Concours. We have worked hard to be innovators and suppliers of some of the coolest stuff available anywhere for the ZG1000/GTR1000, and now often referred to as the C10.

Rest assured, our commitment to this bike is not waning. We still have product to bring to market for the "Legacy" Concours, and with your continual support of our store it will happen. It is from your purchases of all of our product offerings, from brake pads on up, that the war chest grows.

As an innovator, as well as enthusiast, Murphskits is pursuing the new Concours 14 with all the zeal we have put into the original Concours over the years. We sincerely hope to become the foremost supplier of accessories for the C14.

The new Concours has brought a few new competitors to what we have considered “our” market. I am sure you have noticed that the Concours has had a lot of “Hey, we are one of you” merchants pop up as of late. The C14 is like the new girl in school; everyone wants to curry her favor. We intend to be here when the flames die down, sorta like the old song “Save the last dance for me”.

Murphskits has been associated with the Concours for more than a few sparkling magazine articles. When you decide to purchase a few farkles, we hope you take that into consideration. Work with us, and you have my word, we will work with you.

Ride safe.
